The acrylic and oil paintings in this gallery consist of plein air and studio paintings. I enjoy painting outdoors (‘en plein air’) because my observations of the changing light, colors and weather inform me as an artist in ways that working from photographs cannot and become part of a skill set which I can apply to my studio paintings. Besides, being in nature with the birds and critters recharges my inner batteries!  To see the complete image and read a little description, click on each thumbnail. One of the owners of this painting told me he used to work on this farm as a youth, building fences and doing other jobs. He said that after a long day he would return from the far end of the property and as he rounded the corner he would catch this view of the farmhouse and feel so contented. He told me it was a feeling of everything being right with the world. (18” x 24” oil on canvas)
