The acrylic and oil paintings in this gallery consist of plein air and studio paintings. I enjoy painting outdoors (‘en plein air’) because my observations of the changing light, colors and weather inform me as an artist in ways that working from photographs cannot and become part of a skill set which I can apply to my studio paintings. Besides, being in nature with the birds and critters recharges my inner batteries!  To see the complete image and read a little description, click on each thumbnail. Ode to Clouds in the Breeze

Picture 15 of 27

I often paint at Fair Oaks, a lovely estate in Evinston, Florida. There is a sheltered spot under the oaks from which I can enjoy the view up this rolling hill. Sometimes it is planted in rye and in other seasons it runs wild with flowers. (8" x 10" acrylic on panel)
